The German Shepherd likes to lay with her body on a dog bed and head on the floor, except for when she is sleeping on people beds or couches . She seems to know how those work.

So far, so good. Minus the fact that he hasn’t pooped or peed with us yet. But he’s a very timid dog, so that’s not surprising. Otherwise, he’s warmed up to us super quickly!

Mmm yeah I remember my last dog (also extremely timid) having some difficulty with that, too. Remember to completely lose it and praise effusively when he does go to the bathroom on a walk; that got our girl up to speed with the bathroom situation very quickly, even while we were still sorting other things out.

It was honestly a bit shocking to me, especially in retrospect, how quickly she warmed up to us, considering how severely timid she was at the time, and how scared she was of literally everyone else. Dogs seem to instinctively & immediately open up when shown love. They are so good. Our species does not deserve them, but I’m glad we turned wolves into them.
